I'm so happy to be honoring my mother who fought this horrible disease.

As her caregiver I saw the bad and very ugly that this disease brings.

In my book I remember her before she was diagnosed starting with my earliest memory of our time together.

Mom, we came full circle..

Starting Next week I will be teaching a Page to Stage after school program. The program runs through December. I'm going to be teaching students how to create a Living History Character.
Debbie Tuttle Phillips like we did for the Salon Series.

They will create monologues based on a real Historical figure. I'm excited to share with them, especially for American born Africans how to research not only their American history but to also understand the African spirit of the people.

We are our Ancestors

In 1818 Molly Williams was the FIRST black woman to become a Firefighter. Her oppressor was affiliated with Fire Company 11 in New York and they called her volunteer 11. 11:11

During the Influenza Pandemic of 1818 the white men were suffering and scarce. Qween Molly, went out and fought fires with the men. And became part of the department.

Andrea Hall signed the Inauguration National Anthem. She became the FIRST Black female Firefighter in 1993 in Albany Georgia. In 2004 she was the first Black woman to be promoted to Captain.

We became aware of her Historical achievements during a pandemic just as Molly Historical achievements began during a pandemic .
