The century plant only blooms at the end of it's life, after decades of growing. This one here was cultivated at Bluff Dwellers Cave for many, many years by the Browning family, and finally bloomed in 1990. Look how tall that flower stalk was!!! Top of the bluff, wow! We still have some plants from offshoots of this original plant at Bluff Dwellers Cave. In fact, it winters INSIDE the cave.
