AIRSA led the demand for fellowship revision in 2018 and again in 2023 Every time, authorities assure that future fellowship revisions will happen automatically. Yet, researchers are repeatedly forced to protest for their basic rights.

The question remains:Why should research scholars have to come onto the streets every time for a fellowship revision? It is time for scientific leadership to recognize the ground realities and establish a transparent, automatic, and sustainable fellowship revision mechanism.

of the biggest challenges facing India's research community is fragmentation. Different fellowship schemes have unintentionally divided research scholars. Those receiving fellowships on time often remain silent, while those facing delays are left to raise their voices alone.
Funding agencies and the concerned ministries are well aware of these recurring issues. Research scholars have repeatedly highlighted the need for regular fellowship disbursement, timely fellowship revision, and a transparent, accountable system. These concerns deserve sustained attention and meaningful action.
