A Christmas Cracker with a difference! Could this be the new way to pack museum objects....or has the Collections Assistant spent too much time lately dressed as an Elf? We'll let you decide...............................

This is in fact a shameless plug for our Synolda appeal. Well, actually it's a bogie pin , replaced during overhaul and so now stored safely in the museum.

Any donations to spruce up Synolda's new tender would be a tree-mendous help.

An early report on 'Synolda', known then as 'Prince Charles'. This was written following the Museum Curator's visit to see the loco when it became available in 1977 as Belle Vue Zoo was closing.

To discover more of Synolda's story and learn how you can help with the recent overhaul, head over to our fundraising page
