For those wondering, we’ve been up and down Valley Street headed to Crown Point Country Club, at least four times this morning, the last about ten minutes ago. Road improves with each trip. Plows are out and we can see a lot of bare pavement.

We plan on opening and starting dinner on time but may delay the start of ceremony a bit to give everyone a few more minutes to arrive.

Should still be a great evening.

To the question, will the Hall of Fame Banquet move forward? Yes, it will. We have our concerns but feel weather reports for later in the day are in our favor.
We have some tickets left, but only a few; if you are considering attending, we suggest reserving in advance. Attached is the agenda for the evening, which, if you have been to one of these already know, timing can get a "bit" off. Also is the menu of what's for dinner.
One thing we are doing differently this year is inviting all guests to enjoy the buffet at their leisure instead of a traditional table-by-table approach. Crown Point is providing us plenty of food, and we want to provide plenty of time to enjoy it with friends!
We have complete confidence our highway depart will have roads in excellent condition by mid-afternoon.

20/02/2023

Banquet tickets remain on sale with a minimal supply available. If you want tickets for the evening, including a buffet dinner ($40 each), please email [email protected]. Or you may message this group. It will not be live-streamed this year.

Here's the agenda for the evening ahead.

All of our wall plaques finally arrived today. Due to the backorder of materials needed we didn't have them at the banquet, but they will certainly be on the SHS Athletics Hall of Fame wall, among great company, for years to come!
On a side note, they are very shinny, thus the reason for the odd angle used to take the photo.

A good friend and supporter of this Hall of Fame is Tom Haley of the Rutland Herald, no need to introduce him or his background. Attached are links to what Tom does best, interview and expose great things about people. Every year Tom waits on our press release announcing the inductees, then relentlessly tracks them down. We very much appreciate his time and efforts!

SHS Athletics Hall of Fame, Class of 2022
Sponsored by Gurney Brothers & State Farm Insurance

March 5th, 2022, the Springfield High School Athletics Hall of Fame will welcome six individuals and two teams to "The Wall." This is the fourth class to be introduced since the AHOF's inception in 2019. The selection committee felt it was essential to consider those that played roles and benefited in the growth of women's sports since the enacting of Title IX, which created an opportunity for women in sports. This year the induction banquet will be held at Crown Point Country Club, allowing for a comfortable setting and a few more guests. Only 150 tickets will be available for this year's banquet, with expectations they will go fast. You may go to the SHS Athletic Hall of Fame page to request tickets or reach out directly to the High School Athletic Department. Tickets to attend in person will be $40 per person and include a full meal and the opportunity to visit with our honorees.

The SHS Athletics Hall of Fame Committee extends our sincere condolences to the Jasinski Family. Jerry was an integral part of getting our hall of fame off the ground to become a reality. His knowledge, expertise, and work ethic are unprecedented and irreplaceable. And, as many of you know, his laugh could only be described as contagious. “Dr. J” you will be sorely missed.

06/03/2021

The Hall of Fame Committee accepted the challenge of keeping this third annual induction on time. While Covid has presented a problem when it comes to hosting the in person banquet, ten inductees will be added to the wall of fame in this live online interactive broadcast.
Inductees, or a spokesperson will appear from their location of choice to accept and share their own memories of SHS. The HOF Committee has also put together a special ebook that will be downloadable.
So please prepare your own home cooked banquet to enjoy while watching what we believe will be a very entertaining evening. We can assure you it will be a very different and unique evening. Program starts at 6 pm, March 6th.
The broadcast is in 1080i HD and works great on YouTube if you choose to watch from your living room.

March 6th we will be adding ten names to this wall. Please plan on joining us live to hear from this years inductees at 6pm. We also received a very generous donation this week from the Sue Fog family. Sue was a long time very popular teacher in our system. We appreciate her commitment to our community!
