HOSTAGES FREED AFTER PLANETARY POLICE INTERVENTION!

This morning at 8:00AM, a hacker-gang of heavily armed individuals attacked the New New York Central Bank Server. However, despite the gang threat to kill anyone trying to contact the police, the alarm was set off.

The planetary police quickly surrendered the bank. The trapped robbers took 4 hostages, including a pregnant women, threatening to kill them if a spaceship with a loaded hyperdrive was not left on the roof of the bank for them to leave.

At 10:00AM, with the negotiations failing, the Martian Minister of the Interior ordered a full assault of the bank to the Planetary Police Special Forces.

The operation was a complete success: the 4 hostages were freed unharmed and all the gangsters were captured stunned.

‘I want to thank the men and women who fight crime every day in our streets. Our special forces were amazing.’ Said Larry Shakra, chief of the New New York Police Departement.

‘They went in equipped with stun guns to avoid harming the hostages and no armor to improve agility. They took huge risks, and were ready to give their lives to protect the civilians…’

TRAGEDY: THE LAST NATIVE SETTLEMENT OF TARZONAS III IS BURNING!

Yesterday afternoon, the inhabitants of Tupayac, a small native village 40km away from New Kashmir City Center were focusing on their usual activities, when all of a sudden everything changed.

According to Tupayac survivors, “a big black iron bird appeared in the skies and started throwing burning arrows at their huts”.

The OSR planetary police sent cruisers in the area, only to find wounded native among the fuming remains of Tupayac.

The Tupayac inhabitants are reptilian intelligent being called the Krataka, a species that is believed to have been on Tarzonas III for hundreds of thousands of years before the arrival of the Earthling colony ship “Vasco de Gama”, and the creation of the Outer Space Republic.
They are technologically stagnant.

According to the chief of the local police department, the investigation is underway to determine who is responsible of this crime.

Yesterday after a long 10-month trip, the UNS Explorer successfully reached UHJ963 II, a planet that was suspected to be able to sustain human life.

According to preliminary analysis received by Pluto Coms relay I, UHJ963 II has an habitability rate of 124%, against 98% for Earth and 87% for Tarzonas III.

While scientists agree that this is an outlier probably due to a bug or too many parameters taken into account, they say the planet is definitely unlike anything we have seen: woods, rivers and lakes make most of the surface terrain. Temperatures vary between -45° and 47°C, and the small moon orbiting the planet is suitable for terraforming.

The crew of the UNS Explorer planted an olive tree in the middle of a small desert they managed to spot among the green lands. This symbol indicates that this planet is claimed by Humanity.
The solar system was renamed Gaia.
‘Our colonization fleet is on its way’ said UN secretary Viktor Ogorov.

Yesterday afternoon, the Kidun I Space Observatory detected a large fleet of unknown origin, composed of numerous spacecraft and one capital ship.

At 6:00 PM, the OSRS dreadnought Vishnu Gadjau, still anchored in Kilgary Depot’s Dry dock was engaged by the enemy battleship and waves of hostile squadrons.

Despite at obvious disadvantage, its main gun still in maintenance state, the Vishnu Gadjau helped deal critical damage to the enemy, forcing him to pull back in hyperspace.

While the OSDF is not as experienced as the United Nations Space Force, Outer Space Republic technological advantage did the job, as “Vishnu Gadjau” second lieutenant Dhirya Pravnesh says:

‘That was one hell of a fight. They fired their rail gun at our hull multiple times, but the repairs replicator just kept repairing the damaged armored plates at an astonishing rate. The main problem was actually to keep secondary batteries operational, in order to attract their fire and let the ground forces do the job.’

It is suspected the enemy ships are remnants of warlord Reded Hand retreating from UN space since UNSF Europa victory.

As poverty on Mars slightly improve, people have found a very lucrative business in a very particular activity.

The planet social situation being still critical, the proximity to planet Earth added to myths about easy life and unrivaled wealth in the Earthling Dream made unscrupulous people engage in human trafficking.

The UN Martian Police Department recorded dozens of cases of clandestine makeshift spacecraft facilities.

The ships would be made out of old decommissioned UNSF cargo ship shells devoid of hyperdrive, outfitted with hand-made sub-light engines and second hand navigational computers.
Trips are expensive: between 3000 to 5000UC per person.

It would take about 3 months to get to Earth.
It is estimated 300 people die in such trips each year due to life support systems malfunction.
While the UN circulation convention says every UN citizen is free to circulate between worlds, many administrative procedures specific to Earth make trip from Mars almost impossible to a large part of the Mars population.

The UN Earth representative has announced in a press communique that UNSF patrols would be doubled between Earth and Mars.
