"2,100-year-old bronze hand unveils oldest and longest Vasconic script

A new study of the Hand of Irulegi has revealed the oldest and most extensive example of Vasconic script to date. The hand, measuring approximately 5.5 by six inches, was discovered during excavations in 2021 at the site, believed to have been a settlement during the Roman Sertorian Wars. Upon closer examination, researchers determined that the inscription on the hand is written in Vasconic, a language family that includes Basque, which is spoken in modern-day Basque Country at the western edge of the Pyrenees.

The Vasconic language, spoken by the pre-Roman Vascones, holds significant implications for understanding Europe’s linguistic and cultural evolution...

"The Dream Stele, also known as the Sphinx Stele or the Great Sphinx Stele, is an ancient Egyptian stele (a stone slab or pillar) located between the paws of the Great Sphinx of Giza. It was erected by Pharaoh Thutmose IV, who ruled during the 18th dynasty of ancient Egypt.

The stele bears an inscription in which Thutmose IV recounts having a dream in which the Sphinx spoke to him. In the dream, the Sphinx promised Thutmose IV that if he cleared away the sand covering its body, he would become king of Egypt. As a result of this dream, Thutmose IV ordered the restoration of the Sphinx and claimed the throne of Egypt."

"he mummy of an adolescent boy found between the mummy of Queen Tiye and her daughter (The Younger Lady) in Tomb KV35.

Some scholars suggest this could be the first son of Amenhotep III and Queen Tiye, who died as a youth; Prince Thutmose. However, this has not been verified as yet and this young male remains unnamed.

As you can see, this young boy has the hairstyle present which Egyptologists associate with youth and rather appropriately call the ""side-lock of youth""; a bald head and long plaited hair growing only from the crown of the boy""s head.

"""Pacaras Mummy- Necropolis
Preserved by nature. It is located in the National Museum of Archaeology, Anthropology and History of Peru , Lima. It is currently known that what Peruvian archaeologist Julio C. Tello called """"Paracas-Necropolis"""" belong to a cultural tradition called the ToparΓ‘ culture, the center of which was located further north, in theChincha Valley ( 500 BC-200 AD).
Its main exponent is the Warikayan estate, consisting of underground chambers, each chamber supposedly had been owned by a specific family or clan, which burried its ancestors over many generations, some of which housed up to 400 funeral graves. Each burden houses a mummy wrapped in many layers of textiles, some of which are of extraordinary quality - known globally as the """"Paracas Blankets""""."

"This is a photo from 1974 when the first extensive collection of Terracotta warriors was first discovered in Xi""an, Shaanxi, China…
The photo is remarkable because it reveals the original bright colours that were painted onto these life-size clay warriors more than 2,000 years ago by skilled artisans. Unfortunately, when they were exposed to air and sunlight during the excavation, the colours began to curl up almost immediately and disappeared within minutes."

"Gamsutl, a ghost town in Dagestan, Russia, perched on Mount Gamsutlmeer at an altitude of approximately 1,400 meters above sea level, holds a fascinating history that spans over two thousand years. Translated from the Avar language, the name ""Gamsutl"" means ""at the foot of the Kahn’s fortress,"" hinting at a past where a local Khan may have chosen this location to establish a fortified kingdom shielded from adversaries.

Often referred to as the β€˜Machu Picchu of Russia’ due to its unique structure, Gamsutl was once a thriving community that boasted a population of over 3,000 people and more than 300 families. The village""s strategic positioning offered natural protection from enemy attacks, with mountain cliffs on two sides and a mountain slope on the third, leaving only one side accessible via a road.

During the 20th century, Gamsutl buzzed with life, hosting shops, a post office, and a hospital, serving as a bustling hub for its residents. However, the village""s decline began, culminating in its abandonment in 2015 following the passing of the last resident. Today, Gamsutl stands deserted, with only about 70 houses remaining out of the original 300, visited solely by tourists captivated by its ancient allure.

The discovery of tombstones bearing inscriptions in the ancient Persian language further underscores the historical significance and mystery of Gamsutl. The village""s transformation from a vibrant community to an uninhabited ghost town serves as a poignant reminder of the transient nature of human settlements."

Ksar Draa near Timimoun Algeria, is a circular fortress amidst a sea of sand. It contains double walls and lacks staircases or windows, hinting at defensive design. The presence of a singular Jewish symbol only creates more questions as its exact purpose and origin remains unknown. Makes one wonder, what else is hidden beneath the ancient sands of the Sahara?
