Buyer Beware - Nightmare Expands
After receiving our trailer back a month ago with only 2/3 of the work done and a $46,000 bill against original estimate of 34,000, the nightmare grows.
We are now finding deficiencies in the work that was completed. The latest is with the glamour rainforest shower we were promised. We were quoted $10,000. We were charged almost $16,000. This for a shower in an Airstream?
We have now discovered the shower leaks and drains through various surfaces before landing onto the ground outside. We have no idea where the leak is coming from and even less idea of how to fix it.
Making matters worse, we are now being attacked by the friends of the Penner family. We understand and respect differences of opinion. And we also understand and respect that others may have had a different experience than ours. But clearly there are numerous people beyond ourselves that have had a most negative experience as evidence by the numerous posts that attest to the same.
However, we were warned not to voice any dissatisfaction with the Penner‘s work. We were told we would become the subject of personal attacks by their close circle of friends including but not limited to defaming/slanderous statement’s by Lisa Forsyth, Land-O-Lakes Florida (apparent President of the Southeast WBCCI unit to whom we have never even met).
We understand and respect if others have had a positive experience and wish to express that. However, my wife and I simply cannot understand why some fellow Airstreamers, who have no knowledge of this matter, are in denial of the facts we have provided, would personally attack innocent victims of horrible work, horrible service, and horrible pricing.
Why would they do this?
We share our story with the sole purpose that no one else will have to endure the horrible and expanding nightmare that we’ve had to. If you are ever considering having your airstream redone, I cannot encourage you enough to go somewhere else.
Just look at what has happened to us.
Unfortunately, we fear the personal attacks by some will continue. But my wife and I refuse to be silenced or bullied by the Penner and some of their close friends. We cannot sleep without ensuring our story is shared with anyone who is considering using this company to update their beloved and precious airstream.
In our humble opinion, they are the worst form of business owners and should be avoided at all costs.
We have turned this entire matter over to our attorney and he will be handling it going forward.
