We are pleased to announce a new artist will be joining us on "The Trail" in October!
The Great Western Cattle Trail Gallery is excited to welcome Lori Jones.
Raised on a Colorado ranch, Lori always dreamed of being a cowboy and an artist. After years of balancing college, ranching, and motherhood, she moved to Kansas, where her husband David encouraged her to pursue art full-time.
Largely self-taught, Lori specializes in pencil and charcoal, drawing from her authentic ranching lifestyle. She has exhibited widely, winning major awards like the 2023 Cowgirl Gathering People’s Choice. Today, Lori teaches workshops and creates art from her Kansas ranch studio.
Meet Lori at her Artist Reception on Friday November 6, 2026 4-7 PM. Most of her works will be arriving soon but we were thrilled to receive her first work, last evening at the galllery.
Pictured is one of her newest works "Keepin Warm" 20x30 Graphite on paper and now on display. Stop by to see "Keepin Warm" and a host of other incredible artwork at "The Trail"

A bit more work to do on this one. We have highline poles to add, more work onthe car/trailer and those dadgum car tires, a fence maybe and then a name. I am thinking " Mountains By Nightfall" " Are We There Yet" "Panhandle Expectations" or even....wait for it...... "Holiday Roooooooooooooooooooooad" (note: Nothing or NO ONE is strapped to the top of the wagon. The original wagon from was avocado green and they were not pulling a travel trailer. They did pull something though 'Poor little guy. He probably kept up with you for a mile or two! 🤣😂.....If you know you know!)

The Great Western Cattle Trail Gallery is now accepting commissions for Christmas delivery.

Whether it’s a painting of the old homestead, a beloved car from years past, the spot of your first date, a favorite vacation destination, or any other meaningful scene, we can create it. Pet portraits and people portraits are also available, though these must be commissioned especially early to ensure Christmas delivery.

Our cutoff dates remain flexible and depend on the size and number of works requested. So order early.

A new one coming off the easel today. Just a couple more little things. I am calling this one "Sunset On County Road 195, Woodward County" It is 36 X 48 Oil on Canvas. Stop by the Gallery at 3120 Williams Avenue to see this one and more works by myself, Bob Rea and Jared Wait.
