Intergenerational Gathering Retreat by Julie Gvillo
Parents and Grandparents: The two-hour retreat times during June Grace at the Gallery Tuesdays will focus on intergenerational gatherings. Come and engage in creative spiritual practices with your child(ren)/grandchild(ren)! June 9, 16, 23, and 30, during the morning and afternoon retreats (9-11 a.m. and 1:15-3:15 p.m.), A Place of Grace will offer a series focused on the theme, "God With Us" engaging Worship and Wonder to tell related Biblical stories and a variety of A Place of Grace practices including Faithbooking, Audiendo Divina, Prayer Art, and Selah. If you have elementary or middle school students who get excited about scissors and glue or pen and paint or writing and movement or making sound with instruments, then this is a perfect opportunity to spend time with them and explore spiritual practices like worship, hospitality, prayer, retreat, and storytelling in meaningful ways! If there is an overwhelming response, we will open up the 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. and/or the 7:00 to 9:00 retreats for Intergenerational gatherings as well. RSVP at

Von Dell Gallery is participating in this weekend's ArtEast. Celebrate our region's vibrant art scene during ArtEast 2025. Tour studios, explore art spaces, see live demos, and shop local artwork.
Other participants are in the Alton and Edwardsville area. Maps and studio listings are available at any of the participating studios. Pick up yours and enjoy over 40 artists in local art studios.

On May 3, 2025, at the Von Dell Gallery at 102 E. Ferguson in Wood River, The Arts for Youth, Missouri Art Therapy Association and Von Dell Gallery will sponsor the 27th Annual Artsy Exhibit to educate, empower and enable youth through art.
Youth as young as 3 and as old as 18 in the Greater St. Louis area were invited to submit artwork for posters and postcards that will hang in the Von Dell Gallery from May 3rd to May 30th. Youths were asked to make a brief statement that told the committee what they wanted the committee to know about creating their art and what it meant to them.
The committee was looking for art that helped to tell the public about how creating art in an art therapy setting helps young people express what they think and feel.
An opening day party for the children whose art is exhibited at Von Dell Gallery will take place in the vacant lot next to the gallery on May 3, from 12 pm to 3 pm. The "Coping with Blue" band will be playing for two hours from 12 pm to 2 pm.
Artist Rita Cooper will be painting and Bruce Bryer, a sculptor, will be exhibiting their talent for the children to watch. There will be leather sculpting, painting rocks, and other activities for the children.
Cake and punch will be served to participants. The public is welcome.

It is with a heavy heart and much sadness that our fellow artist and good friend, Kathy Brooks-Maness, suddenly passed away on Monday, April 7th. She was a special person who was willing to help you out whenever possible, and her humor could always make you laugh. She will be greatly missed by all of us here at the gallery.
May you rest in peace, my friend.

Funeral arrangements:
​Visitation at Kutis South County Chapel 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd., St. Louis, on Saturday, April 12, from 12 Noon until time of service 3 p.m. with all services concluding at Kutis.
