Meet our intern Yolanda from Bellevue, Washington! She is one of our Gallery Programming & Operations interns, majoring in Art History with a double minor in Studio Art and East Asian Studies. Hear about her experience working at Hanes!

Q: Why did you decide to intern at Hanes Gallery?
A: The University Galleries have been such an important part of my student experience, and I wanted the opportunity to become more directly involved with them. Interning at Hanes Gallery lets me engage with art while building skills and gaining experience that will support my professional growth.

Q: What have you gotten out of your experience so far, or what do you hope to get out of it?
A: I have learned a lot about event logistics and ways to increase community engagement. I hope to continue building connections within the WFU art community and making art a more meaningful part of everyone’s campus experience.

Q: What is your favorite gallery or museum?
A: The Suzhou Museum designed by architect I.M. Pei. I am fascinated by how he combined modern architecture with traditional elements.
