Mission “It is the mission of the Blair County Historical Society to preserve, promote, and interpret the history of Blair County, Pennsylvania." Company Overview The Blair County Historical Society (BCHS) was chartered on July 23, 1906 as a non-profit association open to all persons interested in preserving the history of Blair County. Since its inception, the society has taken an active role in preserving and interpreting this region's heritage, through marking sites of historical significance, publishing books and pamphlets on local history, and collecting and preserving artifacts relevant to the heritage of the area's people. Description Royer Mansion is located at 3909 Piney Creek Road, Williamsburg, PA 16693, which is 5 miles south of Williamsburg on Route 866 between Williamsburg and Martinsburg. Royer Mansion was the home of Samuel Royer and his family. Samuel was another ironmaster, owning Springfield Furnace. The last descendant of the Royer family to live at Royer Mansion was Carrie Hartman, wife of Samuel Royer's grandson. After Carrie's death in 1965, the mansion and springhouse were sold to the Pennsylvania Fish Commission. The Society purchased it in 1984 for $1.00. Royer has two apartments (the second floor apartment is occupied by the Site Manager), a community space (which can be rented for meetings, parties, etc.), and has a picnic pavilion which is used by the senior citizen hubs of Blair County, and is also available for other groups to rent. Royer Mansion is situated on ample ground in a beautiful setting. Perfect for any event! Tours of the Royer Mansion are available by contacting the Historical Society and making previous arrangements. We are always seeking the aid of volunteers, educators, and contributors to help us keep history alive! General Information The Blair County Historical Society owns and operates for historic sites in beautiful central Pennsylvania including Baker Mansion in Altoona, Royer Mansion in Williamsburg, the Dick Schoolhouse in Morrison's Cove, and Etna Furnace in Catherine Township.

Found these early flax show towels at local auction recently. They were made in 1826 and 1827 in the early 1920s the family wrote history on them and tied them up. I had the honor of carefully opening them up for the first time in nearly 100 years! They are part of Royer Mansions spinning and weaving collection now♥️
