Pictures of beautiful pottery pieces. Some pieces are considered "newer" being made in the 1950's as souvenirs, but some are as old as Pre-Columbian era.

Chastity Belt

Definition according to Wikipedia:
A locking item of clothing to prevent "temptation". According to modern myths, the Chastity Belt was used as an anti-temptation device during the Crusades. When the Knight left for the Holy Lands on Crusades, his lady would wear a belt to preserve her faithfulness to him. However, there is no evidence that they existed before 15th Century. Research shows they became widely available in the 19th Century.

"Who's Who in Indian Relics"
My father was represented in 3 of the 12 books. Here are 2 of them. Volume 4 written in 1976 and 10 written in 2000. I am attaching photos of these pages in the books. Feel free to email me if you are interested in a copy.

These are prints from the Schuster Gallery. These are John Gould's lithographs in original hand color printed in London 1850-1883. I have attached a small article on John Gould written in the KU Library 📚. If you have an interest in birds then you might the information pretty interesting.

We were trying to think of how to begin our tour. So alphabetically came to mind! So A = Art.

My parents favorite Artist is Judith Mackey, my dad's sister. She is a well-known artist for her paintings of the Flint Hills, Cowboys, Etc. Her paintings can be seen around the US. And even in the Kansas Governor's Mansion. Her paintings that she had given to my parents were their most treasured possessions. These are NOT for Sale. But you can find some similar on her page - Judith Mackey, her website www.flinthillsgallery.com or visit her art gallery located in Cottonwood Falls, Ks.
