Harvester Arts is a nonprofit arts organization in Wichita, KS founded in 2013. Harvester Arts offers thoughtful, high quality visual arts programming that engages the community through critical dialogue and the creation of new work. Through our exhibition programming, discussion forums, and online presence Harvester aims to reinforce Wichita as an art destination on the national level and thereby

enrich our local arts culture. As an independent space, Harvester has the freedom and flexibility to respond to current trends and react to timely events. Local creatives (Satellite Artists) access the Resident artist’s creative process and create new work in response via satellite exhibitions, essays and events.

Harvester Arts is now accepting solo and group exhibition proposals, as well as individual artworks to be considered for curated group exhibitions in our 2027 exhibition calendar.

Harvester’s artist-led Programming Committee will select proposals for solo and group shows, and curate group exhibitions based on the individual works submitted. Whether you're proposing a full exhibition or submitting a few pieces, this is your chance to be part of Harvester’s 2027 lineup.

Harvester Arts is a collaborative, experimental space in Wichita dedicated to inclusive, community-connected exhibitions. We especially encourage submissions from artists and curators who have been historically underrepresented in gallery spaces. All media and genres welcome.

Enjoy a brief gallery tour with visiting artist, Kathy Liao, who will share insights into her work at Harvester Arts. Reconvene for a short demonstration, then create your own artwork inspired by memory. Participants are invited to bring a photo of a loved one with the intention of creating a collage inspired by their memory or presence.

✨Who Is the Harvester Arts Programming Committee?

Harvester Arts' exhibitions are selected by a Programming Committee made up of practicing local artists working across disciplines and experience levels. Every year, this committee reviews submissions from our annual open call and shapes the exhibition program for the next year.

This committee structure reflects our broader curatorial approach: centering artist-led, public-facing practice, and creating low-barrier, experimental opportunities for artists to test ideas, engage the public, and build sustainable creative lives in Wichita. That approach has allowed us to bring in 5–7 new shows each month in 2026, a pace made possible by thoughtful, community-rooted review rather than a single curatorial gatekeeper.

Meet the presenters for ICT Soup on September 5!

Each artist will share a short pitch and you get to vote for the project you want to see funded.

✨Madi White proposes Halloween Clown Jam, the fourth installment of a variety show celebrating clown, drag, burlesque, puppetry, circus arts, poetry, and music. The event champions original work, play, and self-expression in Wichita, building on a track record that has already introduced nearly 50 new clowns to the local scene.

✨Karissa Ruth proposes Erotic Nights, an immersive celebration of sensuality, body autonomy, and artistic liberation through movement, music, and art. The project centers and uplifts BIPOC, q***r, and sex-worker performers and audiences, hosting pole shows and community events that foster connection and creative freedom across Wichita.

✨Brian and April propose Rumination of Thunder, a pairing of two decades of storm photography with Tersa poetry reflecting on Midwestern life beneath dramatic skies. The work invites viewers to slow down and dwell in the quiet moments around storms, transforming weather-watching into a meditation on human experience.
