League of Women Voters of Hingham Hingham’s League is a local nonpartisan political organization in Massachusetts, encouraging informed civic participation & voter access.

The League of Women Voters of Hingham (with female and male members residing in Hull, Weymouth, and Cohasset) is a local chapter of the League of Women Voters of Massachusetts [2/14/1920] & the League of Women Voters of the United States [5/27/1920]. Membership in our local League automatically enrolls the member in both our state and national organizations. Our League is actively engaged in advocacy based upon research and member consensus. In keeping with our mission of encouraging citizen participation, it is no surprise that many of our members sit on town boards and committees and hold elective office in multiple towns.

LWVH was grateful to have Hingham’s Town Clerk, Carol Falvey, take time during this busy election season to answer 12 questions regarding voting and your ballot for the Tuesday, November 3, State and Town election. She reminds everybody that there is a Voter Checklist in the back of your Election Redbook that you can fill in with your Voting Plan and bring to the polls to save time. You can also find voting resources and answers to questions the League posed to your candidates on VOTE411.

On SATURDAY, OCTOBER 17, 2026, communities across the country are joining NO KINGS: VOTE EARLY. The League of Women Voters is taking part in this non-partisan day of action because protecting democracy is at the core of who we are.

This day is about: Helping voters make a plan; Voting early where possible; Connecting with election protection efforts.

Ballots are already in Massachusetts' mailboxes; In-Person Early Voting also starts at residents' Town Halls on Saturday 10/17th (Hingham 10am-4pm, Cohasset 8am-2pm, Hull 8am-2pm. See Comments for more details). Check your ballot status and options at VOTE411.org.

Make your plan, return your ballot, and bring a friend or neighbor along. Smaller, hyper-local actions are encouraged this time, so a park gathering, a walk to drop off ballots, or a group of friends making voting plans together all count. You can still show up at a larger community event too, like the rally in Hingham at the Bathing Beach/Gazebo 10:30-noon. Find more events near you at nokings.org.

Why does the League support this? For more than a century, we have worked to protect voting rights, expand access to the ballot, and defend the democratic process. Standing up for fair, secure, and accessible elections is how we put those principles into action.

Make a plan. Vote early. Protect the vote.

"[Yesterday 9/14/26], the Supreme Court refused to allow the federal government to throw our elections into chaos just weeks before Election Day. The Postal Service exists to deliver Americans' mail - not to rewrite election rules, demand voters' personal information, or decide which ballots make it through the system.

This was an extraordinary attempt to interfere with voting in all 50 states, and voters should never have been put in this position."
