🎨 CALLING ALL ARTISTS! 🎨

The deadline is approaching for the Berks Art Alliance 47th Open Juried Exhibition!

This is your opportunity to have your work considered for exhibition at the beautiful Cohen Gallery at GoggleWorks Center for the Arts in Reading.

📅 ENTRY DEADLINE: September 18, 2026

🖼️ The exhibition runs November 5 through November 29, 2026

✨ Open to artists 18 and older
✨ All 2D and 3D media eligible, with some exceptions
✨ Submit up to 3 original works
✨ Artwork will be judged on originality, creativity, technical ability, and presentation

🏆 Awards include:

🥇 First Place: $750
🥈 Second Place: $450
🥉 Third Place: $300
✨ 5 Honorable Mentions: $100 each
✨ Patrons' Choices
✨ Emerging Artist Award

Our juror for this year's exhibition is Jeff Schaller, a nationally exhibited Pennsylvania artist whose work combines visual and written symbols to create thought provoking and imaginative stories.

🎨 BAA Member Speaker Series presents: The Story Within the Story

What story is hiding inside your art? ✨

Join us on September 8 at 7 PM at the Yocum Institute for Arts Education as Berks Art Alliance member Helen Reinhold shares her creative journey and inspires artists to explore the power of storytelling in their own work.

Helen is an award-winning impressionistic oil and acrylic painter, instructor, and member of both Berks Art Alliance and Art Plus Gallery. Known for her bold, rich color, adventurous texture, and beautiful still lifes and landscapes, Helen also brings figures and portraits into her creative repertoire.

In The Story Within the Story, Helen will explore how a fleeting thought, an unexpected moment, a photo session with models and vintage props, or simply being open to serendipity can lead to something much bigger than the original idea.

And there is one more story you definitely won't want to miss...

Helen will share her most surprising chance connection with Mary Cassatt.
