Our fifty-first church commission was in Onalaska, Wisconsin. Shepherd of the hills Lutheran Church was an enjoyable project and a fun way to conclude our stained glass window projects by including many family members in the scenes portrayed.

The church currently has windows in the Sanctuary that were made by another company years ago. They are very simplistic. We had to style ours to look somewhat similar in basic design so they would not look too different. The big difference is We used realistic faces instead of trying to match the cartoon-like features of their present windows. We wanted the features to be recognizable as real people. The five windows we are creating portray events in the life of Christ and will be used as teaching tools for the children of the congregation.

We are working on the fifty-first church to have our art glass added. It is a particular delight to add familiar faces into the stained glass windows. This is a segment of the main, eight-foot 'Jesus Teaching Children' window. More pictures to follow.

The black bear with cubs is part of the large set of etched glass wildlife transoms I have been working on. Etching glass (sandblasting) turns the glass WHITE. To portray a BLACK animal, I etch the area around the critter, then do some minimal highlighting by BEARLY etching it.

We have been working on a multi-month stained glass window for a couple in Oshkosh, WI, It is a '4 Seasons Tree' that is sixteen square feet. It was installed yesterday and the owners sent a photo this morning along with a note.

"The window is perfect! Thanks so much for bringing our vision to life. This unique artwork will forever be a lifetime of conversation and beauty! Thanks a million!

And thank you for your faith in us, Marsha and Daniel.

A welcome pause in the wildlife transoms for an etched glass panel for a door on the east coast. I did a project for the couple two months ago and they contacted me again. They wanted something for their 1870's residential door that would look similar to what I had done for them previously. They were delighted with the glass I sent them. Ever want an antique style glass for a restoration of a 1900's residential home? We have them at www.woodlandglassartsltd.com.

I took transom #4 in a somewhat looney direction. The enjoyable challenge with this multi-wildlife etched glass project is to put the animals in their natural setting, yet make the backgrounds different. See lots more at
