There are few things greater than seeing the work of our park community come to life.

For the past few years, the National Park Foundation - through their Active Trails program - has provided grants to parks and partners that promote healthy lifestyles while simultaneously protecting and enhancing the precious land and water trail resources in our national parks.

Take a look at this wonderful video from one of the grantees - Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. Their program "Senderos al Mañana" is a three-week intensive service, learning and recreation program designed for youth in the surrounding community.

This is exactly the kind of impact we love to see - and what your generosity can make possible. To learn more about the Active Trails program visit the Foundation's website here: http://prks.org/10HOXtk

How To Make National Park-Inspired Margaritas | American Latino Heritage Fund

Looking for a good cocktail for your next gathering? How about one inspired by our national parks?

Well we've got just the drink for you over at the #ALEx14 blog. Vianney from Sweet Life shares her recipe for Huckleberry Margaritas!

Check it out here and let us know what you think: http://prks.org/1pNgHJh

Last month at Grand Teton National Park, I tasted my first huckleberry when all of the #ALEx14 bloggers enjoyed a ranger-guided hike at Jenny Lake. As we hiked, the park ranger pointed out the plants, berries, and trees that were flourishing at the high elevation.

One Year Later: Reminiscing On My ALEx13 Adventure | American Latino Heritage Fund

Now that our #ALEx14 bloggers have settled in back at home, it's time for them (and us) to reflect on what an incredible adventure we had. There was so much to see and take in that sometimes it can be difficult to put into words what an amazing experience it all was.

To ease us back into the Monday woes, let's see what Pearmama has to say about her trip to Glen Canyon National Recreation Area as part of #ALEx13. Now one year removed, Denise gives some insight into what she hopes our bloggers take away from their journey.

We're picking up the last of our #ALEx14 bloggers before we embark on our road trip to Grand Teton National Park for an incredible adventure.

And since today marks the start of the 2014 American Latino Expedition - that means we have one last spotlight to share with you...

Rounding out our incredible group of 8 for #ALEx14 is Melanie Mendez-Gonzales!

Hailing from San Antonio, TX, Melanie is the creator of Qué Means What – a Latino lifestyle blog based in San Antonio which began with her own “cultural identity crisis” as a Mexican-American out of touch with her heritage. She currently writes to inspire others to celebrate their own culture with stories about familia, education, Latinos in entertainment, and more!
