Did President Trump ask to come to the shrine of Shrine of Saint John Paul or was he approached by the shrine.I am a Catholic old enough to remember being in the crowd at Murrayfield in Edinburgh for the Popes youth Mass , something that will live with me for the rest of my life. This makes me want to wretch at the way he has used the shrine to promote himself. I wish he had been genuine but any semblence of hope has been shredded by his recent behaviour and that was before his cynical visit visit to the site of the episcopal church waving a bible as if he really had any belief or understanding what it stood for.I will not sin my soul by saying what I really think of him and his cynical use of Saint John Paul the second. All I will say is that such a controversial and cynical use of the church should have been run past the bishop or in this case I think it would be an arch bishop who is not happy about not being given the courtesy of being informed. I hope this was just an oversight by some one who did not fully appreciate the situation, especially after the cynical use of the Episcopal church and the way the people were cleared before the "visit". This has put the church in a bad position as Trump is the polar opposite of such a beloved Pope and Saint.
