Bring the whole family to The Works Museum for some inter-generational engineering fun this winter break!

Kids and grownups of all ages can explore engineering together by building with bricks, constructing elements of a house, spinning a giant kaleidoscope, or just sitting back and watching the K'Nex ball machine do its thing. Plan your visit during our new holiday hours.

3D printing is an incredible medium for bringing ideas to life, but it can also feel intimidating when you're just getting started. One of our board members, Jazmine Darden, will be sharing her expertise with students in a 6-hour session that includes a 3D printer to take home, all the supplies, and tools for maintenance. Space is very limited, so register today!

There's still time to give a housewarming gift!

Today is the day! Give to the Max Day goes until midnight, and we're asking you to please make a housewarming gift in support of our newest exhibit, The House.

Why is The House so important? Studies show that providing children with early learning experiences that connect to career awareness is key to nurturing tomorrow’s STEM workforce. The activities in The House are designed to create real-world connections between the spaces we live in and a variety of career paths including both jobs requiring four-year degrees and skilled trades.

By creating fun, personal experiences that allow students see themselves in STEM roles, The House helps us deliver our mission to inspire the next generation of innovators, engineers, and creative problem solvers.

Please support this important work by making a housewarming donation today.

Give to the Max is tomorrow and we’re inviting you to contribute to a housewarming for our newest exhibit, The House. We don’t need pots, pans or cutlery, but we do need your support to create exhibits and programs where all children and their families belong.

The House invites children to explore how the homes they live in are designed, built, and function. They’ll also meet people who work in some of the careers that are essential to constructing these homes, including skilled trades.

Please support our work and help us fill our home with learning and laughter.

Give to the Max is next week and early giving is underway. This year, we’re asking for your support for our new exhibit, The House.

When kids visit The House they’ll explore activities that show how the homes they live in are designed, built, and function. They’ll also meet people who work in some of the careers that make these homes a reality.

By supporting The House, you're not just investing in a physical space; you're providing learning experiences that connect to career awareness and inspire dreams. Please give generously and help us inspire tomorrow's STEM workforce.

Bring the whole family tomorrow for a day of STEM fun!

Women are still underrepresented in STEM. In fact, this year women make up only 28% of the STEM workforce. Events like She Engineers help to dispel stereotypes that discourage girls from participating in these subjects.

Special thanks to Mortenson for supporting this initiative and for helping girls see that they belong in STEM.

Discounted tickets available at theworks.org/she-engineers through 11 p.m.

Our Story

Our driving mission is to inspire the next generation of innovators, engineers, and creative problem solvers.

What We Do

Our exhibits, programs, and design challenges engage kids in science, technology, and engineering, and make learning memorable and fun.

Dreams need doing, and exploring engineering gives a child the power to make stuff, break stuff, and make it better! We need the imagination and skill of engineers to solve the problems and address the challenges of our modern world. Engineering fuels collaboration, persistence, and problem solving; critical skills for every child from every walk of life. The Works Museum welcomes you to explore engineering and stretch your imagination.
