The Aberdeen City Museum Board lead by Chair George Donovan along with volunteers from the Friends of the Aberdeen Museum and members of the City of Aberdeen Parks Department moved items for display in the front windows of the planned Museum and Visitor Information location at 118 West Wishkah, recently known as the Salvation Army building and historically the "Sears Building".

Recently the City Museum Board asked and was approved by Council, funding for developing displays in the street side windows of the location that will become the future Aberdeen Museum of History as well as a Visitor and information location.

Rounding out the volunteers helping with the move were John Larson, Director ol the Polson Museum and local canoe expert Vern Heikkila.

In addition to the Boards work in the windows, the Friends of the Museum will integrate some items moved into their upcoming celebration of the 40th Anniversary of the Aberdeen Museum of History. The "Friends" will be hosting an open house and event, 40th Celebration - September 30 118 W Wishkah 3-7pm.

Anyone interested in making donations to the collection or volunteering can visit the 2100 Port Dock Rd, Aberdeen (across the street from Home Depot) location every Tuesday 9:30 - 3:00 or contact the city directly at 360-537-3229.
