Mac Salom Aka (Mactivo) was born in the city of Bogota in 1992. He graduated in advertising and marketing from San Jose University. He specialized in history of animation and art at the Central University.
In 2015, he worked as a cartoonist assistant at Nickelodeon company, where he honed his own style, with the influence of universal animation on his work. Additionally, he gained a lot of experience using technology and digital design when he worked for Freepik, creating proposal and template vectors between 2015 and 2017. Since 2010, Mactivo has analyzed different methods in plastic arts, and that same year he began drawing murals in Bogota, involving concepts and diagrams using street art techniques.
Mactivo’s main style is in the doodle technique, which as been his way of capturing and communicating all concepts, ideas, and knowledge. With his brushstrokes, the viewer can see the maximum detail and figurative collage that generates the composition configured with concepts and a saturation of techniques, characters, icons, and ideas that don’t lose the harmony of the main message.

Fall in love with the shape and form of Rainer Lagemann’s stainless steel sculptures
Rainer is fascinated by the human body, the classic theme of artistic expression and struggle, depicted in all shapes, materials and mediums since the existence of mankind.
Rainer's sculptures capture the human body in motion - a freeze frame of classic, timeless gestures and emotions. The sculptures are both ethereal and concrete. The forms he creates are how one imagines Nureyev or Baryshnikov would look in mid-flight.

Dargas caption:
West Hollywood is buzzing about the latest large scale, hyperrealistic oil paintings by Mike Dargas 🍯 The German artist is known for his intimately detailed paintings of women, coming through as colorful and crisp as his reference photography. Within his works, Dargas collaborates with models to capture the vulnerability, strength, softness and other enigmatic facets of the female characters telling the story within each painting.

The World is Yours, By Floyd Strickland
The universe created by Floyd Strickland conveys tremendous amounts of emotion, portraying highs and lows from palette to canvas, filled with equal parts passion and purpose. His works embody the labor of love that narrates the stories behind the illustrations.
“The World Is Yours” delves deeper than works prior into his personal struggles with growth and loss of innocence while still featuring his children as subjects, his son often representing a younger version of himself. Initially, the image of his son was to be accompanied by a lion, symbolizing a two-sided sense of power, but Floyd’s son opted for a hyena, a raucous creature often more benevolent and family-oriented than typically perceived.
Recent readings by Imani Perry and other prolific black authors resurfaced feelings of desolation and villainization during Floyd’s childhood. Black children between the ages of 10-12, while often innocent, are unfairly depicted as older and more responsible, thus seen by society as vicious and threatening more than any other ethnic demographic. Floyd remembers altercations with police where, in a multiracial community, he faced harsher repercussions than his peers, and the ramifications this had on his adult life prompted him to vividly portray his pursuit of change on canvas.
“Art is a channel for me to unabashedly express my emotions. I strive to tell stories that inspire future generations to make change from small scale to systemic. I paint to change history for the better.”
Along with works that recall personal anecdotes, this showcase deeply connects to his West African roots. Echoing elements of paintings by Aaron Douglas, the Harlem Renaissance painter that catalyzed Floyd’s journey into the arts, this adjacent array of pieces combines vivid colors with flat images in a more uplifting reminiscence on his origins and the culture behind them.

Micah Johnson is a figurative artist who uses strong gestural lines combined with loose brush strokes to create dramatic portraits primarily featuring African-American children. These subjects, which are often inspired by his young nephews, began appearing in Micah’s work ever since he overheard his 4-year old nephew ask his mother a deeply disturbing question,
“Mom, can astronauts be black?”

By Brendan Murphy
From the artists acclaimed Chalkboard series
60 x 72 inches
Oil, acrylic and gouache on canvas
Unique work
Think of the movie A Beautiful Mind for a glimpse into Murphy’s own brain and process. The artist predominantly uses symbols, shapes, and words to fill vast surface areas, for an abstract effect that’s science class chalkboard meets Jean-Michel Basquiat canvas. The writing in his works is pointedly haphazard and littered with everything from lyrics to words like love, lust, and passion. By design, it not only provokes a visual conversation on sight but prompts a deeper gut check too.
Murphy uses a wide range of impactful materials, tools and a patent-protected chroming technique to create his range of work. His spacemen sculptures and some of his fingerprint paintings, when crafted using a reflective silver-based chrome, cause viewers to quite literally confront themselves while gazing at his work. The spaceman, according to Murphy, is the embodiment of the human desire to look ahead and venture beyond boundaries, to step into the unknown and be present in the moment—to Murphy, that’s the purest form of existence. He’s continually inspired by the interplay of beauty, power and the human need to understand the energies of life.

Phoria Pezhman explores both natural and urban environments through art and photography. A passionate environmentalist, he thrives outdoors where he gains peace and introspection. Pezhman establishes a dialogue between two different realities by deconstructing emulsion transfers into dimensional layers then building the work up layer by layer with an encaustic medium. Through the process, he urges the viewer to visually access the work’s dimensional nature, which is able to be experienced from different angles.

Californian artist Craig Alan creates unique and amazing portraits by painting tiny figures to use as pixels
With flagship galleries in both Los Angeles and Miami, Art Angels was founded in 2013 by Kat Emery & Jacquelin Napal.
Art Angels’ contemporary and provocative style has attracted collectors from around the world. Exhibiting a selection of both established and emerging artists, Art Angels offer a truly eclectic mix for their clientele with an ever growing number of innovative artists joining the Art Angels family.
The rapidly successful gallery has become the go-to destination for artists and collectors alike, who want to be a part of something visionary and unique. Attracting a wealth of high profile businesses and individuals as clients, Art Angels offers the VIP experience whilst maintaining the down to earth, approachable vibe it built itself on.
Reflecting on their success, the Angels note; Art Angels was built out of a shared love for art and the belief that everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy and acquire art in an environment that is both welcoming and inspiring.
Having become the go-to gallery for the chic and elite, many would be happy with the empire that they’ve built, but this is just the start and the girls show no signs of slowing down. Now one of the leading galleries in Los Angeles and a major player in the art and creativity sphere, it is impossible to ignore this hugely successful business. The gallery has a core team of art specialists dedicated to providing collectors, designers, developers and corporations with the tools needed to offer innovative and creative art from around the world.
Art Angels describe themselves as a premium luxury brand who are inviting and very approachable. Whilst grateful for their rapid growth and success, their determination to continue to grow and push boundaries shines through. Showcasing a number of barrier breaking exhibitions including David Yarrow, Russell Young, Flore, Nick Veasey and Mike Dargas to name a few, Art Angels are definitely not afraid to break tradition and take risks. Along with their innovative suite of artists, Art Angels encourage thinking outside the norm and making sure everything is done with intention and creativity. The gallery was quick to build a cult following - so much so that they have recently expanded their LA gallery and recently opened a new space in Miami, with more to come.
Reflecting on the past few years, Kat Emery notes; “We firmly believe that every acquisition should be a marriage of aesthetic appreciation and wise investment and we make it our business to offer both the beginner and experienced investor the perfect marriage of an enriching and sophisticated appreciation of contemporary art and the financial satisfaction of investment performance.”
