✈️🛠️ Ranger 2000: The Jet That Almost Was
Sleek, rare, and full of potential—the Ranger 2000 was Rockwell International’s bold entry in the 1990s to become the U.S. military’s next-generation jet trainer.
Developed for the Joint Primary Aircraft Training System (JPATS) competition, the Ranger 2000 featured a tandem cockpit layout and modern avionics. It was built to train the next wave of Air Force and Navy pilots with speed, efficiency, and cutting-edge tech.
Though the contract ultimately went to the Raytheon T-6 Texan II, only three Ranger 2000 prototypes were ever built, and TASM is proud to display one of them—a true rarity in aviation history.
🚨 Bonus for visitors: You're invited to climb into the cockpit and take a photo inside this one-of-a-kind aircraft!
📍 Come see it up close at the Tulsa Air and Space Museum
