This new abstract painting, "Bikes and Trikes" by Marion Griffin is on display at the gallery!

Marion says, “Inspiration comes from a variety of places; nature, family, photos, my inner journey and a passion for spontaneity. Vibrant color, abstract shapes and a desire to explore who I am as an artist inspires me to move the brush with exuberance and flair. The longing for artistic authenticity is what nudges me to cultivate my craft and discover my unique place in the art world.”

Make sure to stop by before our last day this Sunday, May 5!

To our valued artists, patrons and supporters — it is with heavy hearts that we announce the closure of DISTRICT Arts after 5 years of proudly showcasing incredibly diverse and inspiring works of art. Our last day will be Sunday, May 5.

This is not a financial decision. The realities of aging, combined with the desire to do some traveling and spend more time with grandkids has led us to this decision. We hope you'll take advantage of our final days to explore our remaining collection and find that perfect piece for your home. Also, please join us on Saturday, May 4 from 5-7pm for a closing reception at the gallery.

Thank you for being a part of our journey. To read our full closing announcement visit: https://buff.ly/36Wkljh

One week until our next exhibition "Dreams" begins!

Almost everyone dreams, whether it’s in the depths of REM sleep or staring out the window while in the stream of consciousness we call daydreaming. Happy, sad or scary, representative, abstract or surreal, we will be showcasing the translation of the ethereal nature of dreams into tangible works of art, pushing the boundaries of imagination and reality.

The works of 28 artists were selected for exhibition by independent juror Rhonda J. Smith.

A new Sheryl Massaro abstract painting, "Hyacinth Field", is on display now at the gallery! (SOLD!)

Sheryl says, “I have always painted abstracts as well as recognizable images. I am not one who can paint without an intention, and so these derive from emotion or a life observation I wish to convey ‘without words,’ so to speak.” This piece has us excited for the pop of color that comes with springtime!

Christine Merry incorporates what she learned from years of graphic design work into her painting, as she always looks first for an interesting composition. Then she pays attention to light and mood. Many of Merry’s paintings convey a sense of melancholy. Perhaps everyone has just left, or the place has been forgotten. There might be interesting reflections, angles, or geometric shapes. Her goal for each painting is for it to evoke certain emotions or sense of place in the viewer.

This is new painting of hers is a perfect example of that. Check it out now at the gallery!

We've got three Marcia Palmer paintings on display that have us craving a delicious brunch!

Marcia's oil paintings embody her view of everyday life. In her work she takes daily scenes and explores the intricacies that can make them captivating. She says, "It's so easy to overlook the beauty in the details of things we see every day. I like to freeze-frame an image in an organic way and for the viewer to be able to connect with my work through its comfortable familiarity."

Come see these in person at the gallery this week!

Two new paintings from Margaret Huddy are on display at the gallery!

Margaret says, ”I believe that my purpose as an artist is to show people that there is still beauty in this world despite the daily dose of disheartening news.” We love that sentiment and think you would love these pieces in your home.

Do you ever use 🍺 or 🍷 for inspiration? Kim Klabe takes that idea literally by pouring wine or dark beer on watercolor paper or panels. She lets the liquid dry and looks at the stain/image to see what shapes appear. The result are these amazing, eclectic paintings.

These new pieces from Sasha Bakaric are on display at the gallery now! Sasha has an amazing origin story - her first encounter with clay was a pottery class for toddlers that she took with her then two-year-old daughter. She felt the attraction and started taking classes and workshops and eventually decided to dedicate herself completely to ceramics.
