Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation Welcome to the wonder of the Agua Hedionda Lagoon. This 400-acre lagoon is home to a wide array of flora and fauna. Come for a visit! Become a member!

This 400-acre lagoon is home to a wide array of flora and fauna and invites us to appreciate our water resources through such uses as a YMCA day camp, recreational boating, a mussel and oyster aquaculture facility, a white-sea bass hatchery, and a power generating plant. It connects us to a greater world in so many ways. Come join the Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation in our work to preserve and protect this valuable resource.

Avian Adventure Day 2026!
More than 90 families and individuals came together to enjoy the outdoors and learn about the fascinating world of birds.

Thank you to our local bird experts, Rick Grove and Bobby Brett, for leading groups around the Discovery Campus in search of native birds.

A special thank you to Avian Behavior Conservancy for providing such a unique opportunity to see birds from around the world up close.

We also extend our gratitude to the AHLF Raptor Team for educating guests about the birds that call the Discovery Campus home.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this memorable day of exploration, education, and appreciation for our feathered friends! 🐦🌿

While every week at Discovery Camp includes animal interactions, this week was All About Agua Animals! Campers found their bravery as they met snakes and lizards for the first time, learned the important role native animals play in our ecosystem, and got some cuddles in as well.
