32 years ago, on the occasion of Barcelona 92’ Olympic Games, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) invited Cruz-Diez, along with fourty-nine other international artists, to create a work of art that would express their vision on Olympism.

Sharing this again ahead of the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games today!

ZuZi is a classically trained artist and neo-expressionist painter based in Miami. She was born in Ankara, Turkey in 1985 and moved to Istanbul at age five, where she was influenced by the city’s diverse cultures. ZuZi’s work often highlights similarities between people and how we see ourselves reflected in others. She travels the world to immerse herself in different cultures and capture the beauty of the people she meets. Her work has been exhibited in Paris and Miami.

Each piece by sculptor Ignacio Gana has a strong narrative, representative of his imagination and appreciation for the human form. The beautiful figures he creates are the embodiment of leisure and relaxation.
His works can be found at the Museum of Modern Latin American Art (MOLAA) in California, Museo Ralli Marbella in Spain, Ralli Museum in Chile, and the Guggenheim in Venice.
Named one of the 18 most influential artists in Miami, Gana was also chosen as the official artist of the Latin Grammy Awards in 2017.

“The works that I create in urban spaces and buildings are part of a plastic discourse generated in time and space that creates situations and chromatic events which change the dialectic between the spectator and the work. Unlike medieval and renaissance artists and the Mexican muralists, my works do not contain referential discourses. They are the medium for an event that happens in the reality of time and space, changing according to the movement of the light and the distance between the work and the spectator. William Barbosa is a self-taught sculptor who worked in the metallurgy field before devoting himself to visual arts. Since the mid-1970s he has been experimenting with volumes and sculptural spaces, using boundary lines that delimit and simultaneously unfold modular structures. His three-dimensional pieces exploit the principles of expansion and weightlessness to reflect on the subject’s relationship with their living environment.

Born in 1928 in Nice, Yves Klein is one of the most important artists in post-war European art and a key figure of the Nouveau Réalisme, founded in 1960 by art critic Pierre Restany. Klein’s works have been exhibited in numerous museums and is part of important private and public collections across the world.
Klein is known above all for his blue monochrome paintings, which were rendered in International Klein Blue, a bright blue pigment that was to become the artist’s trademark.

In 1963, after the artist’s death at 34, his widow produced the above pictured patented acrylic tables, filled with pigment (International Klein Blue or hot pink) or crumpled gold leaf. A definite show stopper!
