From The Collection!

The kalpak is a traditional headwear from the Turkic peoples of Central Asia. While they come in many different designs and materials, a defining feature is their high crown. In 2006, NMCB 7’s Bahrain detachment was sent to Aktau, Kazakhstan to provide renovations to the Kazakhstan Naval Institute. This kalpak was given to the donor during this deployment by a local tribe leader.
