From The Collection!

A pair of WWII N-1 field shoes. The 1941 Navy regulations issued two pairs of black shoes to each sailor, one high cut and one low cut ankle. Later in 1943, the Navy adopted the Marine Corp field shoe to issue to their ground forces as part of their new N class gear. Members of the Constructions Battalions, Amphibious Forces, and Beach Parties would have been issued two pairs as part of their individual allowance. These shoes were given the nickname “boondockers” by veterans which became a common name to refer to this style of boots.
