While I have a bit of time I’m going to get this pretty girl back on the drawing board! She’s being done for the SPCA that we adopted our boy Moses from ❤️ Gotta love those rescue babies!
There has been so much love and appreciation over K9 Ziva’s portrait so I just wanted to make a post and say thank you. I appreciate all of the kind words and it truly was my honor to be a part of such a sweet gift.
Now that it has been delivered and everyone has seen it, I’m excited to share- Today I took a little trip south of us to personally deliver the special commission I’ve been working on. I have so much respect for our law enforcement officers and our military and I’m an animal lover so this one is one I will think back to often. Beautiful Ziva was a K9 with the Randolph County Sheriff's Office, NC. Sadly, she became ill and the incredibly difficult decision had to be made. After spending 3 years, day in and day out working together, her handler had to say goodbye. I received a message from a sweet woman that works in the department asking if I would be able to do a portrait of Ziva. I am honored to have had the opportunity to provide something for such special people that can be cherished for years to come. I hope it is a reminder of all of the good times throughout her life and is able to brighten their day just a little when they’re missing her the most. Thank you again for trusting me with such a precious gift! The special commission will be finished up today. I’ve enjoyed working on this one and I am so excited for it to go home. All of the portraits I do are special but this one has been a bit extra special and I hope it’s cherished for years to come as a sweet memory of a beloved companion. In the meantime, here’s a photo of a gorgeous sunset we had nearby recently.
Once I finish up the surprise commission I want to put some time into doing some pieces that I’ll use to make prints. These will be available in limited quantities and since they’ll be prints they’ll be priced lower than an original commission. I just don’t know what to work on. Wildlife, flowers, something else? What do you think?

NEW!! Now when you book your commission you can also customize the mat with your pets name and an image if desired. I’ll have the colors available listed soon as well as an example of each font available but for now here’s a few. How cool is that?
Glad I hung on to the old desks! Mounting, matting, and packing space. After three tries Amazon FINALLY got the right mats to me for the cats so they’re on the packing table now.

Took a little bit of time today and made some car window decals. Not sure if these will go out with random commissions or if it is something I’ll make available for purchase. Now, to put them up instead of all over my car 😂 (forgot to take a photo of the Love one before putting the transfer tape on. Also haven’t quite figured out why there’s a bone on the cat one. I only just noticed it)
Stickers and decals to drop in with random commissions before they go to the client. Hmmmm, what else can I do and maybe sell on the site?
I made a major mistake and scanned this piece before truly having it finished yesterday. However, since I did have it scanned I decided to do a little work for a more professional display for the site. Really pleased how it came out overall.
I didn’t have the heart to tell him last night that I have another major commission I have to start working double time on today. I think he’d enjoy a cat bed on my head if he could 😂 today I’ll take just a bit to finish up the little strawberry and then dive back into the secret commission.
Tomorrow I clean up some whiskers and (if Amazon delivers) get a real photo mat on these beautiful babies to be carefully packed and shipped. I’ll also be finishing up a small strawberry drawing that I’m doing a full recording of and will share (in nearly normal speed instead of sped up) so keep an eye out for that!
Enjoyed some time at the lake today with the kiddos. It was great doing some drawing while listening to the water lapping around me on the shore. Packing up the four cat portrait tomorrow and putting in double time on the secret commission!
These babies will be finished up tonight! ❤️ Excited to share the completed piece matted and ready. Then it’s on to finishing up a special secret commission as well as getting going on a piece for an art show. Loving my studio’s new look too! So nice and enjoyable working in there now.
I have added a new price list to the site for full body pet portraits! Full body drawings will include a portion of the ground, bedding, etc. under the pet for no additional fee.
Pricing below is for a single subject portrait (one pet drawn, head with a portion of chest fading out). Additional pets will be an additional 30% each. For example an 10"X14" with one dog is $165. 30% of that is $49.50 so a 10"X14" with two dogs would be $214.50. A 9"X12" with one dog is $140, wi...

This is sped up 6x- doing some tweaks and little details on the babies so they will be ready to ship!
Studio is mostly finished up and I am back to work in there! Such a pleasant place to do my drawing now and much brighter. Still need to clean out some things and find a rug since one of our dogs likes to lay in there at night, but it’s beautiful and I am so happy with it.
The studio has been getting a makeover this past week. I am super excited for the results and will share once it’s all finished up. In the meantime I’m doing my drawing in a temp setup so I don’t get too behind.
Getting closer and closer! Starting to really come together but plenty of details to fill in on all four.

Today has been much less enjoyable than usual. Catching up on some of the (greatly neglected) behind the scenes, non-drawing things. They are required to keep things running smoothly but definitely not my favorite tasks to complete. Hopefully back to drawing tonight!
Bit by bit these babies are coming along! None of the cats are completely finished yet but it’s nice when they begin to come together.
Overlook the floor (now everyone immediately looks at the floor first 😂) there will eventually be new flooring. Today in the studio. My brain isn’t focusing very well so I’m hopping around moving things to see if there’s a different layout I prefer, drawing a bit, moving some more stuff, repeat. No matter the layout (or the floor) this is my happy place! I’d love to see what your happy place looks like! Hope everyone is having an amazing day
