Our partner for the Finest Art Showcase San Diego, , has a vision to provide a space for people to explore music in their lives across all facets of the artistic experience – from inspiration to mastery, listening to performing, they seek to nurture personal growth and a connection to a vibrant musical community.

“Music creates space for self-expression, creativity, and skill development. But most importantly, music making creates community. Orchestras, bands, and choirs of all levels, from amateur to professional, bring people together in one rehearsal space to practice the same piece of music. Everyone has a part to play. Sharing this piece of music enables members to actively listen to and lean on each other. Social issues like systemic racism, religious intolerance, and socio-economic disparity may take years, even lifetimes, to solve, but these inequities will not go away until people begin to listen to each other. Harmony cannot be made without listening, and it cannot be made alone.”

Villa Musica has over 30 highly qualified teaching artists on Faculty at its main campus in Sorrento Valley. All have degrees in music – many with Masters’ or Doctorates in their specialization.

San Pasqual Winery is the wine sponsor for the Finest Art Showcase San Diego.

is a family owned winery operating out of La Mesa, California, with tasting rooms in downtown La Mesa and in the downtown San Diego Seaport Village. Originally founded in the 1970s in the San Pasqual Valley, it was later reinvented as San Diego’s first urban winery. Owners Mike and Linda McWilliams began their wine venture in 2009 when they purchased San Pasqual Winery, then operating in a small industrial space in Pacific Beach. Linda earned her winemaking certificate from UC Davis and Mike operates the business aspect. The wines are handcrafted in small lots using grapes sourced from local vineyards and renowned viticulture regions throughout California. Their wines are consistent award winners at the local, state, and international levels.

Finest Art Showcase will have live musical accompaniment by professional guitarist Jose Rodriguez.

Jose Rodriguez holds a master’s degree in music from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. He is a former Faculty member of the School of Arts at the University (UABC) in Ensenada, Baja California. has taught privately in San Diego since 2007 and is part of the community outreach program through . In addition to his solo recitals he performs frequently with other musicians and performed the Aranjuez Guitar Concerto with the North Coast Symphony Orchestra. In 2005 Rodriguez won the biannual Guitar Concerto Competition held at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where in the same year he earned his bachelor’s degree in music and received a Guitar Honors award. In 2006 Rodriguez performed Castelnuovo-Tedesco’s Guitar Concerto No.1 with the SFCM Orchestra and released his first CD recording “Diario 2003” with music by Mexican composer Alberto Ubach. Jose will be performing live at the Finest Art Showcase San Diego, on June 29th 2024.

Darrel McPherson has painted constantly from 1970 to the present. His background in art started at Indiana University and his work later transformed in Memphis. He moved from abstract  to  Impressionism during 1988 from viewing of a small paint sketch by Pissarro.  “When I saw for the first time the power of feeling of an afternoon in the French countryside so long ago, I realized the spirit of a work can be more than the image.” His last breakthrough occurred  in 2006 that  transformed his art, leading to his present work.

Canadian artist Cindy Friesen-Ford Ashurst draws inspiration from nature and her artwork reflects her unique perspective on its beauty.
