A headstone from Bridgeport Cemetery in Brownsville. The top is broken off and it looks like at one time it had a metal emblem affixed to it that deteriorated and stained the stone. Google couldn't translate the entire headstone, so this is the only information available.

How many of us pass by this building regularly, but have no idea what it was? Peter Colley built this house along rt40 in 1796, and later added the bottom in 1801. The bottom portion was used throughout most of the century as a bustling tavern and inn for weary travelers making their way west on the newly commissioned national road.
