Biography

Timothy Phillips was born on the bitter cold day of January 15th 1963 he stands as a self-taught artist in the Naive & Folksy, Primitive style, he was coloring and drawing on paper before he learned to read and write. He was drawing pictures of his surroundings, mountains, valleys and streams & farm houses with colorful details. Later on in his school years he flourished in art class.

He moved quite often through his teen years and therefore had many new surroundings to paint and draw. After High school he entered the Army specializing in communications. After 3 years of service out of the country he returned to his home town of Coudersport Pa. Throwing himself back into his art he did paintings of homes around the vicinity where he resided. His paintings always have meanings to them, a memory, a favorite place he may have visited, or just the beauty of a mountain side with a little stream and a cottage placed perfectly. He bought a Winnebago and traveled to every state in the country painting along the way, selling his art at festivals and art shows. Over 25 years ago he settled here on Miami Beach painting everything he saw. He sold his art through galleries such as the Creative Frame Gallery in Bal Harbor and the Bass Museum . He worked hanging art for years and therefore was around clients all the time, working on perfecting his craft. His art is in private collections around the world With collectors such as Lady Sarah Churchill and Prince Agon Furstenberg, and Guy Burgose. He's had one man and group shows around the Fort Lauderdale area in museums and galleries. Including a group show in the Fort Lauderdale public library. He recently donated a painting to the organization "Painting Out Poverty" in Washington D.C. Artist Statement

"I've always considered myself to be a naive primitive and folksy type artist I've loved Grandma Moses she inspired me so much in my teens I later began to enjoy Henrik Rousseau, Mikhail Larionov and Paul Klee...

The themes of my art go from skylines to landscapes to famous homes and hotels around Miami and the Florida Keys and the world. I love the skylines for the many shapes and colors of buildings layered on top and around each other at the same time I love doing landscapes because of the beauty and simplicity of a single tree the layers of colors and shapes and forms always allow me to paint in depth mixing and twisting branches around each other as well I love painting the architecture of famous buildings & homes with my naive twist, Like the famous painters The Highway Men, it seems I can create a mood that's simple in style and get that glowing effect when I use my colors wisely. It's a dream coming true on canvas...

I am constantly learning new ways to create a certain feeling with every brushstroke of color from my paint brush."

The Realm Of Thoughts Re-vised
Silent Eyes

A spark from the heavens still fresh at full power is graciously received. Anatomically I am paired everything is in place and geared. Floating effortlessly estranged & aloof wondering souls no longer in disarranged matrimony feeling safe a way to my soul and the life belt. Come dawn come dusk come relayed back to importance. Ingeniously I am mirrored with a reflection not of my own. Am I a wondering soul on the outskirts of my reality? Reluctantly I reform my being and now shining like a new traveling device Leniency comes and goes so fast rainbow colors immerse around my being my messages sent far into the heavens. Where they balance for equality on the scales of truth be told. With all the universe’s mysteries, we are still led to believe we are just one entity with millions of emotions our reflections will tell the true story of existence here and now. The simplicity of this realm and life is strangely slow and mundane boredom comes on quick for some lingers a lifetime and over again. We are easily amused by entertaining each other with only our thoughts in a minuscule blink of an eye. Knowing we are attracted by scent and vibrations from great distances. Humans, we are not. When looking down at the barrel of a rifle a two-year-old scans the rubble for an escape. The infant knows fear instinctively from heritage and DNA manipulated billions of years ago by our DNA engineers. We beg and strive for knowledge, yet we only use a minuscule amount of our brain’s capabilities. There are ways to tap into this, but few pursue it to its full extent and power. I forward my inner thoughts to myself to sift through the importance of the message’s knowledge if any.

Just a quick update. Been at mom and dads several days, just could not take the beach anymore the mold and bugs were just to much to handle. moving out on the 4th, putting everything in storage. except artwork and some personal documents and keepsakes. Been feeling so much better and gained about 20 lbs in 2 1/2 weeks, which is fantastic . going to save up my monthly checks and looking to get an RV, and stay in mobile home parks and campgrounds, and so some traveling chads never been out of florida. would love to show him some mountains and snow. Been wanting to do this a very long time now. Been recovering well from the two heart attacks, and the fluid in my right lung. Hope alls well with everyone, enjoy the rest of your week. love to all from Timothy F Phillips and Chad Barry To: Wanda Koch Phillips, Wayne Phillips, Joyce Luig, Lynn Luig, Kimberly Gockley, Kimberly Lynn, Carol Phillips Stachnik, Tammy Donovan-Sanders Jeff Stachnik Jeffrey Pelchy, Kevin Pelchy, Ronnie Phillips, Greg Stachnik Carol Phillips Stachnik, Ferd'e Enez, Levi Weaver, Tomas Ramos, love you all.

Hello friends' family & loved ones. Sorry been out of touch. after 48 days in the hospital and then home to a rehab facility, turned out to be they did not have any of my medications at that facility. So, they sent me home. upon arrival I could not deal with the black mold and bugs, so we packed up a small suitcase of cloths, and took an uber ride to mom and dads. staying here till the first of may back to the beach putting everything up for sale in the front yard sell it for what I can get, load up all my artwork and some important books, and quilts and crocheted. blankets 8 ft X 12 ft. I made myself. took me about 6 months but it's beautiful and heavy, it has 8 inched parallelled rows of different colors yarns. I really enjoyed making it My grandmother Stella Reedy taught me how to crouch. when I was like 10 yr. old. What memories sitting next to the pop belly stove I loved going to the wood pile and bringing in a fresh load of Pennsylvania aged wood. So that's about what it is for us, cannot wait for this move to be over with. most likely will live with mom and dad 4 or 5 months, save up disability checks. then try to find a furnished 1-bedroom place to move into. well here it is 9 p.m. They never came to take me to Deerfield Beach rehab. chad went to the store at 2 p.m. and has not returned yet he gets lost from time to time. or has a sugar attack and blacks out on bus benches and wakes up in the hospital. That's happened twice since he had the stroke. I'm worried about him out there alone. wish he would have never gone I sent him to the store for some candy. damn. where is he? 3 days in a row now he has left and not come back for up to 23 hrs. I can't sleep or eat or think straight. and he doesn't think it's a problem. but it is,, a BIG problem... HUGE problem.l please pray for him, folks. pray for both of us.. please.
