‼️
The Museum is planning to take a group out to Bowerman Basin (Grays Harbor Wildlife Life Refuge) in Hoquiam once again this year to harvest sweet grass:

Our question to our tribal members (and those other tribal members and non-tribal individuals who will accompany them) is when should we host this event?

>End of June?
>Sometime after the 4th of July?

Please give your thoughts in the comments below.

Other QIN programs that would like to participate or would like to share their thoughts please email or call us or stop by and visit.

We recently received an inquiry from a man who is considering donating an item to the museum. The item is a sailing ship replica that was gifted to him when he worked for the Washington State dept. of Economic Development in the 1980's.
He said the person who gifted it to him told him it was made by a Quinault Wood Carver. He has no other information.

If anyone knows who may have carved this, please let us know. we are trying to figure out its origins.

A noteworthy find donated to the museum today:
A vibrant blue clay stored inside a stick.
We believe the clay to be naturally occurring and possibly used for decoration, adornment or art.

Artifacts are still found to this day by tribal members along our coastline and in our forests. We are blessed to call this land our home 🌊🌲.
