Behind these doors is the heart of YL-37 — a Wright Cyclone 9 cylinder radial engine - exposed, worn, repaired, and still beating more than 60 years later.

This engine carried Marines through Vietnam.
It brought young men home.
And for some… it carried the weight of bringing others home who never made it back.

The patched metal.
The oil stains.
The bullet scars.
None of it was polished away. Because this aircraft isn’t meant to forget where she’s been.

YL-37 is more than restored.
She’s remembered.

And somehow… after everything she endured… she still flies.

Then. During Restoration & Now.

YL-37 flew in Vietnam, carrying Marines into and out of places most of us will never fully understand.

At one point, she came back with 54 bullet holes (as seen in the photo with the red circles) —each one a reminder of what those missions demanded.

Today, she still flies.
Not for war… but to honor the men who served, the ones we’ve lost, and the stories that deserve to be remembered.

From Vietnam… to now.
She’s still telling their story.
