After 14 years of dedicated service to the Friends of the Rogers Memorial Library, Joanne Handloser is resigning from her position as President of the Friends. She served as Secretary from June 2003 to December 2011, Co-President from January to April 2012, and has been President since that date. Joanne’s accomplishments in the position are many. Her efforts with Ali Maimone to increase membership have led to the highest membership numbers in the history of the Friends. She, along with her husband Jim designed a new logo, membership packets and the tri-fold which lists donors to the Friends. Joanne created and maintained the Friends page, and was instrumental in beginning online book sales through eBay, which led to approximately $65,000 in revenue over the lifetime of her commitment to the Friends. Joanne has been vital in molding the Friends of the Library into the organization they are today. A dedicated leader, she will be missed.
