Call for entries for our August shows! We are once again publishing two themes and look forward to seeing your entries! You may enter both shows, and we increased the number of pieces to 5 per artist instead of 2. (If you enter both shows the maximum number of entries would be 5 total). Show us your work!

The Gallery's opening group shows will be featuring 50 pieces by 16 local and regional artists. We aim to open on July 1st -- pending receipt of our certificate of occupancy from the City of South Portland. (Any changes will be posted here and on our website). Come. See. Leave inspired!

We're excited to announce that "Sunday Jazz & Art" will be part of Arts in SoPo's monthly artist receptions starting in July! Live Jazz music featuring local and regional musicians one Sunday afternoon a month. Come for the Art, stay for the music, conversation, and ... snacks! Someone asked today if Arts in SoPo is only for South Portland artists. The short answer is no. If you're willing to drive to drop off your artwork and to pick it up, by all means feel free to apply to our shows! The assumption is that most artists will come from the "Greater Portland" area, but there is really no restriction.
Our community involvement, however, will be focused on South Portland. That's our home.

The first few artists have already submitted their entries! Fabulous Artwork, great local talent! Can't wait to put it all together and hang our opening "twin shows" on the gallery walls.

The landlord has already begun the renovation work inside the space. It's going to look spiffy! (I can't help myself... I go peek through the windows every few days... LOL)

PLEASE READ BEFORE APPLYING...
Good morning South Portland and surrounding areas artists! Today's the day we embark on this new adventure together. Because I am not sure how many of you will be applying for our group shows, there will be two "twin" shows running concurrently for our grand opening.
- "Celebrating SoPo" will be the featured show. These entries will be given priority for wall space and placement in the gallery.
- "Share your art!" submissions will be accepted if we still have space. Feel free to apply to both shows.
- As a general rule, the gallery aims to be family friendly given its location in a busy shopping center. Therefore we will not accept artwork depicting nudity, violence, drugs, etc... The curator has the final say on selection.
- While we feel that Digital paintings and AI Art both have a place in the Art World, this gallery is simply too small to accommodate all mediums, so the decision was made to focus on non-digital work (with the exception of photography)
- We will potentially accept a limited number of small sculptures in the future. Stay tuned for more on that.
Can't wait to see your entries and to welcome you and your Art to the gallery soon!
