Museum of Makers and Innovators and maker-based learning through interactive play.

Founded in 2018, Museum of Makers + Innovators (MOMI) is a volunteer-led 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to establishing a New Jersey children's museum that cultivates S.T.E.A.M. Bridging the school and home learning environments, MOMI is uniquely positioned to support families through hands-on, interactive experiences that spark the imagination and curiosity in the child in all of us. We provide programs and experiences at the intersection of art, science and nature that educate, entertain and stimulate the curious minds and playful spirits in our diverse Northern New Jersey community.

We are taking over the Ballroom at for the inaugural MOMI Maker Day! In celebration of , we’re bringing the “MOMI Big Three” under one roof for a high-octane celebration of creativity and engineering.

From Scribble Bots to massive Fort Building and Claymaking — and so much more thanks to our amazing partners — we’re proving that every child is an inventor.

This isn’t just a pop-up—it’s a movement to build a permanent museum for our region! So come on out, bring your friends and let’s have an awesome day of play!

HAPPY NEW YEAR! 🎆 🎊 We are stoked for 2026, but can we just say — 2025 was our best year yet!

As we officially close the chapter on 2025, we’re looking back at the messy hands, the “aha!” moments and the incredible focus on kids’ faces at our pop-ups. From fort-building in Montclair and Maplewood to Maker Madness, clay building in Paterson and Newark’s Night Fest, thank you for playing and dreaming with us.

Behind the scenes, we’ve been just as busy trying to find a brick and mortar for MOMI! We spent the year meeting with community leaders and partners to move the needle from “idea” to “address.” 📍

The goal remains the same: building a world-class home for S.T.E.A.M. and play right here in our community. Thanks for being part of the journey! 🚀
