Surrender to the Mystery

Within the infinite universe, there is so much we can never fully know or understand.
S urr end er t o t h e M yst er y invites you to release the need for empirical knowledge to prove or make
sense of the world and our place within it. What if it doesn’t have to make sense? What if you don’t
need to explain it?
What changes when we relax our grip on the material world and open our perception to the subtle
language of the universe, a language of symbol, metaphor, pattern and synchronicity?
About the Artist
Caitlin Rae Moon is a visionary artist and mystic whose work explores the threshold between the seen
and unseen.
Through intuitive and embodied practices including tarot, movement, automatic writing, and ritual,
she gathers images, symbols, and messages that she then translates into physical form through
painting, pottery, and printmaking.
She lives in Matunuck and works from Infinite Portals Studio in Peace Dale, where she creates art,
reads tarot and works with clients one-on-one. She hosts monthly tarot-themed ecstatic dances at the
Neighborhood Guild and facilitates other events throughout RI, CT and MA. Learn more at

Curator's statement:
I first became aware of Caitlin's work while having a cup of coffee at Caf Bar. A man came in wearing a gorgeously decorated jacket which was covered in images of butterflies. I approached him and said, "I been admiring your jacket! Are you the artist?" He said, "No. My wife is." I wrote down my contact info and pitched him the idea of his wife doing a show in TWSAG. Caitlin called me a couple of days later. She invited me or a studio visit and I got to see many, many objects that were just as beautiful as the jacket. As you can see from the installation currently on view she has the ability to seamlessly blend objects made by hand and objects occurring in the natural world.
I also learned that Caitlin does tarot readings. I signed up for one on my 81st birthday. Here is description of that experience:
