Today our wonderful volunteers set up some sandbags on the front hull of the M4A3E8 "Easy 8" Sherman tank on display. Often this practice was done in Europe during the later part of the Second World War, as the idea behind it was that the extra addition of sandbags and other materials to the hull of the Sherman tank would assist in strengthening the tank's overall armor protection. It will make an excellent cosmetic addition to our mighty "Easy 8."
