Mark Anthony “Tony” Altermann had enjoyed a long career in advertising when he decided in 1978 to follow his passion and become a Fine Arts Dealer. Altermann Galleries and Auctioneers was born. While the rest is history, the Altermann family continues his legacy at Altermann Galleries and Auctioneers with the passion and personalized service that Tony built his business upon. Richard, Tony’s son, shares the same love for the art business and took the helm in 2008 and continues to move the Altermann brand forward.
For over 40 years, Altermann Galleries & Auctioneers has offered more than 20,000 works of art at auction and in our galleries. We proudly specialize in: American Western, American, American Indian and European art. Our auctions are held twice per year in Santa Fe and Scottsdale, two areas deeply rooted in art culture and boasting many world class artists locally. Both Santa Fe and Scottsdale have become a mecca for procuring some of the finest art available in today’s marketplace.
Today Altermann Galleries and Auctioneers has a marketing program utilizing all that technology has to offer while still maintaining a strong presence in print media in local, regional and national publications.
