A descendant of Scotland (Clan MacIntyre), and married to a Scotsman (Clan Kennedy), Kelly has long since felt a deep connection to her Scottish heritage but it wasn’t until her first journey to Scotland where she truly fell in love with the beauty of the land and its people. Her favorite subjects include the incredible rolling landscapes, ancient castles, and lochs. If you asked her what her favo
rite part of Scotland is, she would likely give you a different answer every time.
“The beauty of Scotland is not easily defined in words and is much easier felt in images. That’s the thing about Scotland, you have to feel it. You have to have the wind whipping your hair into your eyes and the sea air in your lungs and the heather crunching under your feet. Until you can experience Scotland with all of your senses at once, standing on the edge of Loch Ness, or a the ruins of a castle older than Western Civilization, you can still observe at least part of the beauty in images. Once you’ve stood in those magical places, you only have to look at the images to remember how the air felt, how the sea spray tasted, the way the sunset illuminated the sky just for you on that one magical night and it all comes back to you. You can feel it all over again.”
When she isn’t traveling with her camera and creating new art, she is enjoying her time with her husband Ryan, four children, and labrador retrievers, Sam and Pippin.
