Carol Anne McChrystal, Sandstone Keepsake III (The Phantom Island Hy-Brasil), 2023. Mixed media sculpture

is a visual artist whose materially driven works take the form of the traditional plaited mats of her two island homelands, Ireland and the Philippines. Inspired by her own family migration story, her self-taught process of mat-weaving reflects on how traditions necessarily transform in diasporic communities, a result of how migration can separate subsequent generations from the old ways of being with the Land.

Inés Pesado Catrufo, Jen and Sophie, 2025. Photograph. From the series “All Flowers Lost in Time”
9’s series “All Flowers Lost in Time” is a photographic exploration of time and memory. Through photographs that echo more than they document, the artist builds scenes that feel like remembering forward. This work is a meditation on vanishing, on the shimmer of ordinary days, and the beauty that lives in passing and cannot be held.

Currently on view in The Irish Contemporaries {V} at through June 6th.
