🥑 🥑 Long time no (guac) talk! 🥑 🥑
🥑 Some of you may have heard hints about The CADO opening this summer at the San Diego County Fair. Guess what? You were RIGHT. We had spent the last several months working on a few totally new exhibits, updating original ones, and bringing together fresh ways to experience our favorite fruit. While it’s disappointing that COVID-19 has postponed the opening (fingers crossed for next summer!), the pandemic hasn’t changed our mission.
🥑 We created The CADO around a shared delight in avocados and a drive to unpeel the journey from tree to toast. Of course, the pop-up experience was how this physically manifested, last summer, but we’ve built an AVObsessed community that reaches far beyond IRL.
🥑 To all those on the front lines of this fight: you are heroes! To all our growers who ensure we have food: we see you and we celebrate you! To anyone whose life has been affected by this: our hearts are with you!
🥑 Now more than ever we need to share stories about our farmers whose dedication to the crop is unwavering. We also need to support them. We need to share moments of delight - that feeling when you twist open the fruit and see that green gradient in all its glory. ✨ So, please buy local fruit (it’s CA avo season!) and share your stories, recipes, uses, etc with us!
