NONOTAK studio is a collaboration between illustrator Noemi Schipfer and architect-musician Takami Nakamoto based in Paris. They began by working on light and sound installations, creating dreamlike environments. Combining Takami Nakamoto's approach to space & sound and Noemi Schipfer's experience in kinetic visuals, their installations are distinctively immersive and engaging on a sensory level.

Stop. Stare. Sway. Repeat. Try this near and far. Allow time for the eyes to relax, as if looking through the wall. Move slowly. You may find yourself lost in the moment. You may forget you are looking at string altogether.

This is how artists Shawn Causey and Mark Daniell encourage engaging with their installation Sweet Spot. It is a meditative, low-tech vehicle for an intimate inner dialogue - "What am I seeing?" This work is driven by the artists' fascination with color theory and optical effects.

"There is a sense of rhythm that is most effectively experienced in slow motion and in close proximity to the work." – Shawn Causey & Mark Daniell

We Are All Made of Light emulates a constellation in which every person becomes one among the stars. As participants move through the galaxy of stars, the light is extruded in their shape, living light trails of their presence across the starscape. Once participants leave, their trails of light remain in the constellation and are added to the collection of trails that others have left behind. With every new visit, the number of light trails increases and reflects the growing history of the space.

Maja Petric is a new media artist who uses artificial intelligence and other cutting-edge technologies to poetically manipulate light and space. She has a Master's degree from New York University and a PhD from the University of Washington.

"The sound is developed by Marcin Pączkowski to accompany the interactive visual experience of being one among the stars." -Maja Petric

Micromonumental Mapping, The Essence of Creation by Limelight was originally created to be displayed on the Opéra de Lille in France for the Lille Video Mapping Festival that was set to take place in April 2020. Due to COVID 19, the festival had to be postponed so the artists decided to downscale and project it onto a 1:40 3D model of the building.

ShadowPlay by John Edmark is a light installation that invites the user to collaborate in the creation of animated multi-colored shadows. Initially, the projection surface appears white, but when users step into the light beam, the shadows they cast reveal a panoply of ever-changing colors.

John is an artist, designer, and inventor. Through kinetic sculptures and transformable objects, he seeks to create surprising structures that manifest unusual behaviors. His background is in architecture, animation, computer science and product design.

Michael Murphy is a Brooklyn based artist who specializes in perceptual art.

The Immigrant (shown in photos 1 & 2) calls attention to the positive contributions immigrants make to our communities. This tribute is intended to introduce positivity into a negative and overly politicized conversation.

Come Together (shown in photo 3) was inspired by the Women’s March in Washington D.C. in early 2017. The image is the artist’s partner’s fist taken at the march.

In 2019, Julia Carrillo stayed in Seoul for a few months during an artist residency. On one of her daily walks along a river, she noticed that at a certain time of day light patterns were projected onto a nearby bridge. The river water acted as a dynamic mirror. She took advantage of those lighting conditions started recreating something she had imagined: a water prism. Then she reconstructed these conditions in her studio and developed the artwork Into the Light based on the interaction of water with a beam of light.

Have you seen Notes On Blindness: Into Darkness yet?

Notes on Blindness: Into Darkness is an interactive VR project that is based on the audio diaries of John Hull, a writer and academic who lost his sight completely in 1983 after years of gradual deterioration. To make sense of the major changes in his life, Hull began keeping an audio diary on cassette tapes. He recorded over sixteen hours of material over three years, providing a unique testimony of loss, rebirth, and renewal that sheds light on the inner world of blindness.

Notes on Blindness: Into Darkness by Peter Middleton, James Spinney, Arnaud Colinart, Amaury La Burthe is currently showing at Wonderspaces Arizona.

Do you remember Into The Breath by Stefano Ogliari Badessi?

Into the Breath is a Chinese dragon made of tea bags. Visitors enter inside and are invited to enjoy the calm atmosphere. The installation is a meditative environment for reflection.

With his artwork, Stefano Ogliari Badessi invites his audience into surreal scenarios. To create his artworks, he often reimagines waste or uncanny supplies to craft installations that play with light, transparency, shape, and color. Stefano balances his artistic process with a touch of madness.

This kinetic sculpture focuses on an infinite loop around a circle of light, a timeless journey with no beginning or end. It invites viewers to explore the delicate dance of light, shadows, and reflections that fill the surrounding space. Allowing the viewer to lose track of time and discover a new perspective.

This kinetic sculpture is made of three royal blue light circles projected on the wall; the center is also filled with a white light and a turning disc.
