Virtual Explorer Experience with the San Diego Automotive Museum

The San Diego Automotive Museum presents the story of the automobile in ways that engage the visitors and their experiences with cars.

Their compelling exhibits invoke a visceral reaction for the visitors about cars they have owned, loved and driven!

The museum was founded by San Diego car collectors in 1988 and has now grown into a museum that features automotive culture from around the world.

This unique museum offers a nostalgic look at the amazing vehicles of the 20th-century. It features more than 80 historic autos and motorcycles; including Louie Mattar’s Fabulous $75,000 Car! This 1947 Cadillac is a one-of-a-kind car that still holds the distance and endurance driving record set in 1952! There is something here for everyone to enjoy!

Virtual Explorer Experience with the Museum of Us

Would you share your secrets with a stranger?

Secrets are the currency of intimacy. They reflect our darkest thoughts, brightest hopes, and every emotion in between. They’re deeply personal but extremely relatable. They allow us to feel alone, together.

For over a decade, millions of people from all over the world have been anonymously sharing their secrets with Frank Warren, founder of the community art project, PostSecret. Each postcard submission is a unique work of art handmade by people who needed to share and release their secrets into the world.

Learn more about PostSecret in this Virtual Explorer Experience along with Kate Clyde, Director of Exhibits & Operations at the Museum of Us, and Frank Warren, Founder of PostSecret.

Please note: This Virtual Explorer Experience may not be suitable for all and a responsible adult should accompany all children 12 years old and younger. You will hear and see real secrets. Please be aware that the content in this exhibit may be difficult or disturbing for some viewers.

#StopAsianHate

The Balboa Park Cultural Partnership is deeply saddened by the acts of violence being committed against the Asian, Asian American, and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community in San Diego and elsewhere, and we stand unified with those who denounce these senseless and unjust crimes. We will continue to demand support for racial equality, in all areas of society.

To our Asian, Asian American, and Pacific Islander friends, colleagues, and family – you are important to us. Not only do we share in your sadness, we give our voice to you in calling for systemic change against hate and racism.

The Cultural Partnership believes all cultural organizations should work together to create a positive future, where opportunity is accessible to all. Upholding the values of inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility are important - we will continue to listen and work together to create an experience that is safe and welcoming for everyone, always.

Hate is never a solution.
