Museum is reopening!

We've got fantastic news: our museum is reopening! Here is everything you need to know before you plan a visit.

Book a Private Experience: https://bit.ly/2G4YfQL

Hours: 3pm–7pm, Thursday–Sunday.

Private Experience 🚂
The only way to see our trains in action is to book a Private Experience. You will have the entire museum to yourself and your group (up to 10 people) for 45 minutes. The museum is sanitized between each visit.

Each Experience will include a private tour guide who will explain the art of model railroading, the history of our layout, and show you how the trains and features work. This is an engaging way to see the museum and a unique experience not to be missed—even if you have been to our museum before.

Each Private Experience is $75 for the entire group. To celebrate our reopening, we are offering $10 off with coupon code "reopening10" if you reserve your booking by Sunday, September 6 on our website. The discount can be used for tours booked through the end of October 2020. Visit our link in bio to book your visit.

You can also book a Private Experience with us. We are opening Thurs-Sun by appointment only. This is going to be the only way to visit the trains for a little while.

Private Model Train Display | Old Town Model Railroad Depot

We are happy to announce our reopening plans! In order to protect the health of our guests and employees, we have decided to open by appointment only July 2 - July 5. We will allow people in the same household into the museum at one time. You will have the entire museum to yourself!

Book your visit on our website: https://www.oldtowntrains.com/private-experiences/

One of our guides will be on hand to show you how the trains work and give you the history of our 2,000 sq. ft. model. The museum will be thoroughly cleaned before and after each group. Your reservation must be made 24 hours in advance. Masks are required and we will have hand sanitizer available. Due to our limited space, this is the safest way that we can welcome guests back at this point. We appreciate your understanding and we look forward to seeing you all.

Based on the demand we see this weekend, we will extend this into the weeks to come until we feel that it is safe to fully reopen.

As of July 2nd, the Old Town Model Railroad Depot will be opening its model train museum and train gifts shop on a private reservation basis. Book now!

Schools are officially closed. Time to plan for things the kids can do while at home. Stop by our retail space and check out our selection of toys, books, and trains to keep the little ones occupied. We have a 3-year-old at home and totally get it. So we are offering 10% off your entire purchase this weekend (starting today if you can make it there before 5pm). Just mention this post.

WE ARE NOW TEMPORARILY CLOSED. WE WILL KEEP YOU POST ON SOCIAL MEDIA.

Given the concerns around COVID-19 (Coronavirus), please be assured that the Old Town Model Railroad Depot is taking proactive measures to ensure the health and safety of our guests and our team. We are monitoring updates from the appropriate government and healthcare authorities.

We are remaining open during our regular business hours. We will let you know if that changes. Our staff are taking extra precautions to maintain a clean and safe environment for our visitors.

If you're not feeling well, please stay home - we look forward to seeing you when you're doing better and up to enjoying our museum and store.

We should all be doing what we can to help slow the spread of this virus so that our healthcare system has a chance to respond to these unforeseen events. Here are a few preventative steps that you can take:

-If you're sick, stay home.
-Avoid close contact with people who have symptoms.
-Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands. We're all working on this one!
-Wash your hands frequently and properly - meaning, with soap and water, for at least 20 seconds, the same amount of time it takes to sing “Happy Birthday” twice - or your favorite train song.
-If soap and water are not available, use a hand sanitizer containing at least 60% alcohol.
-Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces or objects.
-If you must sneeze or cough and have no tissue available, do so in the inside of your elbow, not into your hands or into the air.
