Courthouse Fund Is Established
Restoration has set up a special fund to finance the rehabilitation of the old courthouse, it was announced yesterday by Mrs. Edna Landin, Restoration president.
There is now $2300 in the fund, she said, of which $1000 was donated by Restoration.
Present work of clearing out the lower floor and boarding up windows of the second floor is to be completed by Frank E. Pauls, general contractor, next week. Mrs. Landin said the commission would then call for bids tor installation of utilities.
The amount of repair work done will depend on the way contributions come in, Mrs. Landin said. Volunteers are needed to make a house to house canvass for funds. Anyone interested is asked to call Mrs. Landin at 8331.
At Monday night's board meeting Harry Huber was appointed to the building committee. He is a property owner and lives in Coronado Heights. Wayne Hunt, who owns Robber's Roost, was appointed in charge of publicity, signs and markers. He will also serve on the zoning committee. P. W. Newbury, county recorder of Bisbee, will serve on the historical research committee.

Campo Gun Battle December 4, 1875- Took a trip out to the site of the famous gun battle that occurred in Campo, Ca, which is southeast of San Diego by 30 miles. The Gaskill brothers fought off a number of outlaws who intended to rob and murder them. Amazing gun fight, should have been as famous as the Fremont Street Gun Battle except: Wyatt Earp and Doc Holiday weren't there, it didn't occur in Tombstone AZ, and there was no subsequent Vendetta Ride( that we know of). A story waiting to be told.
