This photo shows a member working on the track between Plaster City and Coyote Wells. The track in the foreground that is a bit blurry in the picture is the curve coming out of High Pass to head down Goat Canyon.

Here are two more pictures of the SDSONS layout under construction in the 1980s.

The first photo (with the member in the red shirt in the foreground) shows members hand laying the track between the Oceanside hidden yard and the Yuma/El Centro sections. The curve heading to the left heads to Plaster City, and continuing straight/slightly to the right takes the train to the Yuma hidden yard area.

The second photo shows the same members working on the track from above. In the foreground is the main and sidings heading to Citrus Heights from Dulzura.

The track on the SDSONS layout is Code 40 rail hand laid by soldering the rail to PC board ties (usually every fifth tie is a PC board).
