The Philadelphia Art Gallery existed as a
mainstay and cornerstone of the "FINE ART"
experience in the Philadelphia region from 1956
- 1974. The owner and operator of the Gallery
was Mitchel G. Wagman, a significant painter
and sculptor during this period and a member
of the GROUP 55 Artist's Forum along with Loius Kahn.
The Philadelphia Art Gallery represented most of
the living artists of the times. Original Oil and
Acrylic Paintings, Etchings, Lithographs,
Sculpture and Limited Edition Fine Art Works
were professionally framed, displayed and sold.
The Philadelphia Art Galley epitomized what
art was about for the Philadelphia and New
York area, exhibiting renown and eminent
artists of the region. Represented were
prominent Abstract Expressionists, Cubists,
Dadaist, Realists and other Moderns.
