Rotary hears from one of their own, First Lieutenant Claude Hone was a Marine Corps fighter pilot in World War II 70 years ago flying the F4U Corsair off the carrier Wasp. He saw combat action on the invasion of Guam, Saipan, Iwa Jima and Okinawa. He was in the first flight of eight planes to strafe the Tokyo airport under heavy anti-air craft fire. Only five planes made it through. Claude will tell you his first hand experience.

As you saw a couple of weeks ago, we have a true international treasure right here in the metro area in the Nobel peace prize forum.

The 26th annual Nobel Peace Prize Forum will take place March 1st at 7-9 in Minneapolis, on the campuses of Augsburg College and the University of Minnesota West Bank. This event will be open to the public.

Imagine standing in an auditorium singing freedom songs with Nobel Laureate Tawakkol Karman and then participating in Q&A with people from five continents. Imagine hearing Muhammad Yunus call for putting poverty in a museum and then discussing with your seatmate whether this is possible. Imagine eng...

Tomorrow's Program: Bringing the Inspiration of the Nobel Peace Prize to Minnesota.

Nobel Peace Prize Forum Executive Director Maureen Reed is a vigorous long-time proponent of the Nobel Peace Prize Forum. She has attended nearly every Forum since it began in 1989 and co-chaired its Executive Committee from 2005-2011. For her, the annual Forum is “a respite and a retreat – the unique opportunity to renew my spirit and re-energize my mind.”
