If I had loads of money, I'd make my basement into an art school to teach painting AND art history to kids. Sounds boring, right? NO! History is so fun, we all just had too many stuffy old white guys writing/teaching it. Once in a while I show my niece an artwork, and we talk about it. We laugh and joke and learn- it's so much fun! Today I introduced her to Heironymus Bosch. He's a weird dude who painted weird stuff! He painted in a town very near where my grandparents grew up. (No matter how hard I practiced, the Dutch said I never pronounced ' 's-Herogenbosch' correctly. Even a Dutch bus driver told me: "don't try, your Dutch is terrible". 😆😆😆 Art History is so important because it links everything together. Humanity, religion, science, technology, pain, hope, modern trends, humor, beauty, horror, politics, nature.
This pic is a close up of one of Bosch's paintings. We giggled and giggled. He painted biblical themes .. very oddly!
